A male Bateleur perched in the tree adjacent to the stranded tortoise Once the coast is clear the Bateleur drops down onto the ground It cautiously approaches as the flailing tortoise tries to right itself Up close and personal When the Bateleur starts pecking the tortoise retreats into its shell What do I do now? Once it had departed I righted the tortoise to enable it to continue on its way
