It made a lovely image in the soft side light The monkeys had been alarm calling for a while when all of a sudden this African Crowned Eagle flew in and landed on a dead tree in front of our house. I managed to get a couple of images before it flew off in search of prey. This is my first record of this species here. I last saw them when we lived down in Kwazulu-Natal many years ago African Crowned Eagle. Regarded as Near-threatened From the large to the small. This female Collared Sunbird was sunning itself quietly on this branch This obliging Fiery-necked Nightjar allowed me to get up close for this ground level shot while I was out on a game-drive the other evening A Black-chested Snake-Eagle soars past overhead A week for raptors was rounded off this this image of one of a pair of resident African Hawk-Eagles Here a Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird is seen feeding on the fruit of a Mistletoe, a parasitic creeper growing in a Knobthorn tree Also in on the feeding action was this Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird Last but not least this Rattling Cisticola rounded off the week
