My eye was drawn to some movement close to the ground. After a short while realised that it was a large raptor busy with a prey item. I quickly moved into position for a good view of what was unfolding.The snake had already been despatched and partially devoured but most of it was still inside a cavity in the log. With the snake firmly in the grip of its talon, it looks up at me when I arrive It then carries on with the business in hand of extracting the juicy meal The cavity was small and the snake quite long so it took some effort It ingests the snake one manageable section at a time A final tug tug to remove the remaining piece of the tail A satisfied and well fed Snake-Eagle Now to identify the snake
