There was a blanket of mist hanging over the farm. It made photography for the first few hours a bit challenging. It did clear later so the whole trip was not wasted. I managed a few firsts for the Autumn. A Bluethroat, a Red-tailed Wheatear, several Water Pipits and a Cattle Egret. So despite the conditions I did not come away empty-handed This Red-tailed Wheatear surveys the surrounding area from this vantage point on top of the rock My first Water Pipit of the season. There were several to be seen A Cattle Egret warming up in the sun as it burnt off the mist My first Bluethroat of the season seen here in the early morning misty conditions

Recently some Kestrels have been seen on the farm. I have been trying to capture a sequence of shots depicting them hovering in the sky as they scan the ground below for something to prey upon. To date I have not had much success. Here however is as series that I think are reasonable enough to include Common Kestrel
I had been missing the Greater Spotted eagle other birders had been connecting with recently until finally I came across it climbing on a thermal. I managed a few images as it gained altitude.
